London, April 2017 – For their state-of-the-art high-rise homes, construction contractor Hiper Gayrimenkul sought the best available technology to make life easier and more convenient for prospective buyers. For advanced, user-friendly locking technology to complete a smart home system, they turned to ASSA ABLOY.

Future Park Istanbul is one of the most ambitious developments to date by Hiper Gayrimenkul group, a leading player in Turkey’s buoyant real-estate sector. The project involved an investment of 450 million TL (€111m approximately). In addition to an exceptional location and proximity to education centres, transportation hubs and hospitals, Future Park offers the best possible array of services for its residents, including the latest in home automation, integrated by residential technology specialists Aypro.

The smart home experience starts at the door step with convenient and reliable access control. The security of every dwelling must be of the highest quality, so a low-security solution like mechanical keys was not an option.

Future Park Istanbul and Yale Smart Door Locks

State-of-the-art ASSA ABLOY smart locks will be fitted to smart homes in Future Park, a high-rise development in Istanbul.

Every apartment at Future Park is designed around the smart home or home automation concept. Naturally, that includes door locks, and Hiper Gayrimenkul chose a smart door lock (model YDM3168) from ASSA ABLOY brand, Yale. During 2017 around 1,700 smart locks will be installed on the front door to every residential apartment.

“The Yale smart lock with its grand quality and design provides the highest-level security at a cost-effective price,” says Alper Uludag, project manager at Hiper Gayrimenkul. “Making the decision to work with a trusted global supplier of smart home security like ASSA ABLOY was the best choice.”

The energy-efficient Smart Door Lock is powered by standard batteries. It allows residents to open their front door via their smart home system, with a secure PIN or RFID smart card without using a physical key. Integration of the smart lock with the apartments’ smart home system was straightforward and wire-free. The lock’s easy operation and design contributed to the choice of ASSA ABLOY’s solution. RF communication also allows remote opening of the entrance door using a smart home app at Future Park.

Further smart home services at Future Park include automatic extinguishing of energy and gas supply; activation of the security system under programmed risk conditions; remote adjustment of temperature and lighting; and intelligent management of energy consumption, which provides 40% savings to a typical resident’s monthly utility bill.
