Sights and sounds: 2017 National Drive Electric Week in Austin

Organized by Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association, the 2017 edition of National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) was a rolling, week-long, multi-national series of 288 or more locally-organized events aimed at promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption and awareness. In the case of the Austin, Texas, event on September 16, NDEW City Captain Jennifer Lassiter marshaled her team in the Texas capital to encourage private individuals to display their EVs and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) at the drive-in affair. A collection of over 60 registered vehicles was the result.

The Digitized.House team participated with our 2017 Toyota Prius Prime PHEV, and had a great time chatting it up with many other electric car owners, prospective owners, organizations, and vendors at the event—and also switched on our gimbal-stabilized smartphone video cameras to meander through the venue from end to end. We hope you enjoy our video walk-around above and the still images below.

Our Prius Prime was the only Toyota PHEV on display.
